Tiwaz is the 17th rune in the Elder Futhark. It is phonetically a “T.” This is the first rune in Tyr’s Aett.
Tiwaz is the rune of right action. It is also the rune of self sacrifice, and it’s the soldiers rune. This is a rune that people would swear an oath on.
Tyr is connected to Tiwaz. Tyr is the god of oaths, justice, and single combat.
Old Norwegian:
Tyr is a one-handed god;
often has the smith to blow
Old Icelandic:
Tyr god with one hand
and leavings of the wolf
and lord of temples.
Old English:
Tyr is a guiding star; well keeps faith
with princes; it is on course
over the mists of night never failing.
Face up in a rune read:
The thing you should or must do
May require sacrifice
Can mean connection of father and son
Make a choice
Face Down:
Bad sign
You are doing it wrong
Loss of your path
Not that important
Bloggers Note: This is my normal state. So I did not feel much change with this rune. I did need to do a bunch or prep, and it was close to new year. I did a bunch of planning of what I needed to get done in the next year.
