Phoenix tattoo: This will be the rare tattoo without a story. The owner of the tattoo allowed me to take the picture. They did not speak enough English for me to get the story of the tattoo. I did not speak enough Mandarin to ask for the story. They did keep stating, “from dust to bird.” Deep, in a poetic way.
Gemini tattoo: they knew their first tattoo would be the Gemini symbol. They feel like their body embraces that personality. They wanted their first tattoo to represent a thing that represents who they are.
Kanji star tattoo: The kanji is one their best and oldest friend’s names. Their friend has their name tattooed in kanji. Their friend wanted to get a best friend tattoo. They decided to get this tattoo just in case they someday weren’t be friends anymore. It’s been 23 years, and they are still friends.
Precious Moments tattoo: It’s an angel and a devil. They knew for the longest time they wanted a Precious Moments Angle tattoo. This was to mirror the Gemini idea of two sides in balance.
Calvin and Hobbes tattoo: They love the books, for both the humor and the more adult tones. They knew they wanted Calvin and Hobbes adventure scene tattoo. They love the adventures they go on and the fun they have as friends.

Aliit ori’shya tal’din tattoo. This roughly translates into “family is more than a bloodline.” It is from the Mandalorian language of Mando’a. It represents a lot of the memories of their family that were adopted. These memories are worth more then some of their blood family. This was the first tattoo they got, and the moment they got out of the tattoo shop, they got a phone call from their father that their nephew was in the hospital on his last few breathes of life. They ended up speeding 90 miles an hour to the hospital. Every time they look at the tattoo it reminds them of their nephew who passed away from left heart ventricle syndrome.
Valknut tattoo: They got this as a religious tattoo and it helps to remind them of their faith, and their connection to the Allfather Odin. It’s a nice guide to help them never fear the afterlife.
