Ingwaz is the 22nd rune in the Elder Futhark. It’s phonetically “ing.” It’s the 6th rune in Tyr’s Aett.
The direct meaning of Ingwaz might be the god, Ing. It’s connected to Ing, not surprisingly, and also to Frey. The rune is intensely connected to life itself, and to potential energy. The rune image can be compared to a seed.
Due to the current pandemic, I see that the month of Ingwaz may also indicate the need for separate space and new growth. I find the recap of the rune on runesecrets.com very interesting.
Old English:
Ing was first among the East Danes,
seen by men until he went eastward,
over the sea his wagon ran after,
Thus the Heardings named the hero.
Face up in a reading:
Male energy
Potential in there
Save your life
Harvest
End of a cycle
Face down in reading:
It could be looked at as trying to grow wheat in the desert.
Joejoe’s Notes:
So wearing this rune for a month. This was the first time I have actually used a gun in self defense. I also received a bucket load of vegetables. Other then the hell going on in the world, I would say this rune may connect to me the best. I also worked out a lot, and started my plans for the hopeful future.
