End of Bumped Robin Idea

Last year, I started a funĀ new to me investment idea. I would try to buy at least a $1 value of stock for everything I buy. For example, when I eat at Taco Bell, I will go home and buy a $1 fractional share of its parent stock company, YUM.

This was fun at first. And happily, I am ahead by a least 10%. I didn’t beat the broad market, but I did enjoy investing.

The reason I am stopping this is that I no longer trust Robinhood. I used to like them. However, their customer support team is horrendous. I had a miserable support person who asked me for too many personal details. I understand I have to verify myself. However, I would prefer to be the caller when I verify myself. As I was giving away all my information, I felt uneasy, like I was being scammed. Yes, they told me when they would call and from what number. However, it felt wrong. I prefer to call them myself and wait on hold than have them call me and ask me personal questions.

They were also unable to help me with a straightforward request.

I did a rune reading to help me decide if I should stop buying fractional shares. My interpretation of the runes was that I should stop buying fractional shares of Robinhood.
