Pending Balance

Nautical Star Tattoo

Nautical Star tattoo: This was Slinger’s first tattoo and it was a cover-up.  Slinger had two dots there and would put cocaine on the dots. Slinger ended that time and did not want to show this anymore. Slinger got the star to cover the dots up. This tattoo stopped Slinger from being able to join the Coast Guard.

Memorial Cross Tattoo

Memorial Cross tattoo:  This is dedicated to Slinger’s grandpa. He passed away from cancer and Slinger wanted to do something for him.

Moon Tattoo

Moon tattoo: Slinger met a girl and on the first date they decided to get matching tattoos in the same spot. They are no longer dating, but Slinger still knows her.

The next group of tattoos is a work in progress. The demons and skulls on one side, and the hope and cross on the other. Slinger stated it is for the good side and the bad side. It will one day meet together in their chest. Slinger says it is currently unbalanced.

Demon Head Tattoo Demon Head Tattoo

Demon Head tattoo: This is a cover-up tattoo. In the black part was Slingers high school girlfriend’s name. Slinger’s brother did this tattoo and the skull tattoo.

Skull with Flower Tattoo Skull with Flower Tattoo

Skull with Flower tattoo: Slinger was going through some bad stuff. This tattoo is to represent that time.

Hope TattooCross Tattoo

Hope tattoo and Cross tattoo. This is connected to the good side.

A Phoenix with a Japanese Twist

Phoenix Tattoo

Phoenix tattoo: The Phoenix took about 4 hours. It was one session. Hou-ou was 30 years old it was their first tattoo. Hou-ou got beat up a lot in middle school. Hou-ou had low self esteem and low self-confidence. Hou-ou learned martial arts. Then they stopped getting beat up. Hou-ou had the self-esteem to try new things. One of those life changer Phoenix reborn kind of things.

Foo Dog and Dragon Tattoo Foo Dog and Dragon Tattoo Foo Dog and Dragon Tattoo

Foo Dog and Dragon tattoo: The foo dog with an open mouth is warding off evil and a protector. The dragon is one of the ultimate symbols of power. Hou-ou is very close with their younger sister. Hou-ou is an overprotective sibling. Hou-ou tries to take care of her as much as they can.

Samurai Tattoo Samurai Tattoo Samurai Tattoo

Samurai tattoo: I was talking to my tattoo artist, and told him I wanted to turn this into a sleeve. Since everything was Japanese-inspired I was thinking a tiger, maybe another dragon, or a samurai. As soon as I said samurai, the artist eyes lit up. He said, “I would rock the shit out of a samurai.” I told him he was the artist so have at it, and I am super happy with how it turned out.

Pagoda Tattoo

Pagoda tattoo: It really just connected with the imagery of the samurai. All of Hou-ou’s tattoos are Japanese inspired. That is kind of Ray’s thing and style. The artist is Ray Jerez at Inborn Tattoos in New York City. Hou-ou came to him with very vague ideas. Ray came up with tattoos that Hou-ou is very happy with.

Blue Knight

Shield Tattoo

Shield tattoo: The first tattoo was the result of a lost bet at a Hurricanes game where the Canes were down by three goals, with two minutes left in the third period. “Me and my friends told another friend that if the Canes came back and won, he would tattoo us with fresh sewing needles and Indian ink. The Canes won.” It was the most insane hockey game, ever. Ludmila drew this up on the ride home. It was kind of a little pun: Ledmila’s last name is Knight. Ludmila got a shield and swords. It’s more the memory then design itself. Ludmila had their friend do this tattoo one dot at a time, and the memory of hanging out with them was cool.

Blue Rose Tattoo

Blue Rose tattoo: Ludmila got the blue rose with one of the same friends they got the shield tattoo with. We were at a shop hanging out. My friend wanted to get a tattoo. Ludmila just saw this design. It’s by Daniel Higgs. Ludmila stated “Daniel is a wonderful tattoo artist, amazing poet and musician.” Ludmila  saw it was his work and got the tattoo at the same time as their buddy. This strengthened the tattoo bond with their friend. Ludmila stated, “both tattoos are both really good memories of hanging out with my friends.”

Google wants your opinion and will pay for it!

Disclaimer. I do not get any rewards for advertising this. I just think it’s a good promotion. Google Opinion Rewards is a survey app from Google.

Pros: I like that the surveys take one to two minutes at most. I have seen them pay anywhere from ten cents to over a dollar. They are easy surveys. You can spend the credits you make in the Google Play Store. You can buy anything from pay apps, ebooks, to audio books. If you play Pokemon Go, and want to buy some Poke Ball, you can use it for this also.

Cons: You can only spend the money in Google Play Store. If you don’t spend the money, it will disappear one year from the time awarded. Another agitating thing about the app: if you update the app, you will need to relaunch it for it to keep giving you surveys, or it will stop giving surveys. The surveys are kind of sporadic, maybe three one day, then the next two weeks, nothing.

My opinion: you might want to keep your data private, but it’s Google so they know it all, anyway. Get the app. You will need to buy something from Google Play Store one day, and you’ll be glad to have the credits. If not, perhaps you can get a audio book or something.

Isa the Norse Serenity Rune

Isa Rune

Isa is the 11th rune in the Elder Futhark. It is phonetically an “I.” It is the third rune in Heimdal’s Aett.

Isa’s direct translation is ice. Ice was the enemy of the Norse. When the ice melted, the Norse were set free. The ice would also cause the rivers to freeze, allowing a new dangerous path to a destination.

Anglo-Saxon Poem:
Ice is very cold and immeasurably slippery;
it glistens as clear as glass and most like to gems;
it is a floor wrought by the frost, fair to look upon.

Old Icelandic Poem:
Ice is bark of rivers
and roof of the wave
and destruction of the doomed.

Old Norwegian Poem:
Ice is called the broad bridge;
the blind man must be led.

Face up in a reading:
Locked
Frozen
Stagnate
Stumped
Slippery
Making difficult
Something you have to survive.
Way to open a path
An obstacle

06/30/2019 Update:

After wearing Isa for a month. Isa is that a thing or patch can be completed. It wont be easy, it will be hard, but it can be done. This is Isa as a bridge.

Connecting To Earth

Birds Tattoo

Birds tattoo: They are not any particular type of birds. The birds are more symbolic. The birds are in the shape of a subtle “S.” This was for a dog Strider Kolvar who they had for 5 days that died of parvo. Kolvar wanted something not obvious, which was birds in the sky in an “S” shape.

Owl Tattoo

Owl tattoo: Kolvar likes birds. Kolvar thinks they are misunderstood like “bird brain” and it’s really not true that birds are dumb. Owls are very smart. Both of the tattoos are in the same style with no harsh boarders. Kolvar likes things that are connected to nature. Kolvar likes having something on them that is animal life and with nature.

Elf Tattoo

Elf tattoo: This is a tree and an elf. The tree is connected with earth, nature and the cycle of life. Kolvar thought to put an elf in there because the elf is cool. The elf is a connection to the supernatural.

Strength and the Green Lantern Core

Chinese Hanzi for strength tattoo

Chinese Hanzi for strength tattoo: In my family they are the glue that keeps their family together.

Green Lantern tattoo Green Lantern tattoo Green Lantern tattoo Green Lantern tattoo Green Lantern tattoo

Green Lantern tattoo:  They got this tattoo because they have always had a love for the Green Lantern Core and what the Core stand for. The Green Lantern Core are the police of the universe. They have always thought of themselves as an upstanding citizen. They did 10 years in the military which helps with this thought.

Crescent Moon and Dark Star tattoo

Crescent Moon and Dark Star tattoo: They are a Pagan. This is their connection to the metaphysical. They want to get the same design on their other side, where the moon would be darkened and the star is not filled in. The new tattoo would be for balance to this tattoo.

Pepe and an Apple

NOTE: The recording was messed up. Below is my memory of what was told to me for these two tattoos. The tattoos are on different people, who are partners.

Apple Logo tattoo: The person who had this tattoo was homeless and living in a shelter. They managed to get a job in Apple at a support desk. On the way home from work on the they decided to pay homage to the job by getting an Apple logo. The colors were supposed to match the Apple brand.

#####################

Pepe Le Pew tattoo: This tattoo is a cover up. They would not say what the original tattoo was. They looked through a book of tattoos they that would cover it up and picked this. They also did not want the heart in the tattoo. The artist game them a deal to keep the heart in the tattoo. Their partner will be getting a Penelope so it will mean something then, however, currently, it is only a cover up.

A Mothers Tribute

Shoulder Arm and Back Tattoos Shoulder Arm and Back Tattoos Shoulder Arm and Back Tattoos Shoulder Arm and Back Tattoos Shoulder Arm and Back Tattoos Shoulder Arm and Back Tattoos Shoulder Arm and Back Tattoos Shoulder Arm and Back Tattoos

Shoulder, Arm, and Back tattoos: The tattoo starts with a cancer survivor symbol. Their mom survived breast cancer. The photo is a photo of their mom. This is to symbolize the half of her that passed away and the other half that has to stay strong. The bird symbolizes that when you are dealing with pain, you have to keep moving forward. There is also a tribal symbol for strength and another symbol for healing. To heal you have to forgive. The forgiveness is for the pain that they have.

Save Money on You Gas! Credit Card Penfed

I don’t get a kickback if you get a PenFed card. I think it is one of the best gas cards currently out there.

With this card, I get 5 points per dollar on gas purchases. The current reward for 5900 points is a $50 gift card. This card gives you a gas savings of about 4%. If gas is $3 a gallon, you save a little more than 12 cents a gallon, not including any other offers you use.

This card also gives 3 points for grocery stores and 1 point for everything else. The grocery store points  don’t change. The rewards are this way all the time. I don’t have to think what will my point reward be this month or week.

The card has two additional benefits:
1. There are no international charges. You can use it anywhere they take credit card, and you are not charged international fees.
2. They give car rental insurance. This can save you money when you rent a car.

This card does have one challenge: PenFed is a Federal Credit Union with some rules. You need to be a member of the Penfed Credit Union before you can apply for the card. However, you can do this by opening a share account and depositing $5. You will also need to make a one-time donation to one of their charities, which is like $20. After this, you should be able to apply for the credit card, as long as your credit is good.

I have been very happy with this credit card. The share account is kind of silly. That is it though; there are no further charges.

If you have a better gas credit card, please let me know.
