Shorty Chases the Moon

Egyptian Ankh

This tattoo is the Egyptian Ankh. This was done by a friend of mine about 17 years ago. It was because I also loved Egyptian mythology. The Eye of Ra is the middle, but you can’t really see it. My friend has since passed away. It is very special to me. I will never touch it up in any way.

T Rex

The T Rex is my second tattoo. That is because I have always been short, and my arms are short. At work, I can’t reach everything because I have T Rex arms. I decided I might as well put the T Rex on the arm. I get a lot of compliments on this tattoo.

 Boba Cat tattoo

The next tattoo I got was the Boba Cat tattoo. I love boba. I got the tattoo for my late cat Stitch. We had Stitch for 10 years, but he died of cancer. Stitch was my first kitty. I got this to remember him. Stitch used to like to share our treats with us.

moon with the rose of sharon tattoo

This is a moon with the rose of Sharon, the Korean flower. I love the moon, and I am a night owl.
I want to go to Korea someday — I love the culture.

Work and Pray

This tattoo is a symbol of praying to keep Cameron safe. Cameron is my firstborn.

This is a picture of me expressing myself by cutting hair. It is a picture of scissors, a barber pole, and clippers.

A Farm Boy at Heart

I had a 640-acre farm in Minnesota, but we’d never owned a John Deere.  I got interested in doing mechanical work. I was restoring garden trackers. John Deere was the only one that had parts, and I just went with John Deere. I am a farmer, so I feel connected to anything that is a tractor. I also have a mailbox that says Allis Chalmers, which was a tractor for the farm.

House Stories

New category: Odd homes. During the pandemic, I was unable to get pictures of anybody’s tattoos. During this time, I would take a lot of walks. I would walk by so many houses and think, this looks really interesting. I keep wondering if there is a story behind this house. Why did they make their yard that way? I will start adding these in along with the tattoo stories if I can get enough of them. Let me know what you think!

Riding the Dragon

mountian gragon angle tattooPOW tattoo

At the top of the mountain, there is a dragon. At the bottom, an angel is riding a motorcycle. Along the way down, there are rocks and debris. I was born in 1988, the year of the dragon. I used to ride motorcycles all the time. It was my way of life. A few years back, I had my motorcycle stolen from me. Additionally, I got hurt in the military. I was not able to ride. If I had forced myself to continue riding, I most likely would have gotten myself killed. It was as if fate had taken the bike away from me. I went through a lot of hurdles and hardships that year. This is what the rocks and debris are for. The skull on this side of the mountain comes down to the POW tattoo. That is to remind me of my deployment in Afghanistan.

Grom Reaper tattoo

Grim Reaper. This is an older tattoo. When I was in the infantry about a decade ago, they gave me a weird nickname on one of my deployments. I was a good shooter. I got this not because I was proud of this. I just needed to remember when I was with this unit with two IDs.

Malthael tattoo

This is the archangel of wisdom, Malthael. If you look at the lore, Malthael transforms into the Grim Reaper after being tortured and brutalized by Satan for a long period of time when he was stuck on earth. He was never able to return to heaven. He is not considered a demon. He is a fallen angel, which is what the grim reaper was.

The writing on both the two tattoos spells cicisbeo. This is the Italian male word for mistress. I had a long affair with a married woman several years ago.

dead lover tattoo

Zombie Tigger tattoo Poison Mushroom tattoo

I got the Poison Mushroom around the same time I got the Zombie Tiger. This was right after I got Dead Love. I was falsely imprisoned for a little while. I had a lot of issues with family and friends. People I trusted turned against me. These represent those people so that I can remember them.

Chess tattoo Chess tattoo

The chess set was from when I was incarcerated. I played a lot of chess while incarcerated.

Rising Above Adversity

Celtic Warrior Symbol

This is a Celtic warrior symbol. I got it after my brother-in-law, a former Marine, took his life. I got this for my 40th birthday. He took his life earlier that month. He was covered head-to-toe in tattoos. I wanted something to reflect the fact that I had risen above adversity. This tattoo symbolizes me rising above adversity.

 moon with some stars

This is a moon with some stars. I went to college late. I was in my mid-30s. I would sit behind all these young people who had tattoos. I wanted one, too. I figured I would get one on my ankle. I expected a whole lot of pain, but there wasn’t that much pain. I wanted it in a spot where I could enjoy it. If I had known that it wouldn’t hurt, I would have gotten a full ankle bracelet.

Father | Mother

This tattoo means father; it’s a Japanese Kanji. I have lost both of my parents. I lost my father to homicide when he was in his 30’s.

This tattoo means mother. I lost my mother unexpectedly, two years ago. She was in her 60’s.

Peaceful Gifts

Monster Tattoo

This tattoo was a birthday present.

Dragon Tattoo

I got this one 15 years ago after a nasty breakup.

Deamon Tattoo

This tattoo watches my back.

Ivy tattoo

I got this because someone needed money to leave town. I gave him $50 to give me a tattoo.

Dragon tattoo

I got this dragon tattoo to cover up a bad grim reaper tattoo. I walked into a random tattoo shop in Wilmington, NC. A friend of mine worked at the tattoo shop, but I didn’t know it. He asked if the size was a problem, and I said no. I got something that took up a quarter of my back.

Fiery Aries

Fiery Aries. This is the fire sign and Aries under it. I was born under an Aries sign.

skull wings peace tattoo

Blogger note: It has been some time since I’ve asked about tattoos. I did not get the story of these last two tattoos.

I believe the peace tattoo story was that the person walked into a tattoo place, liked it, and just got it. However, this may be incorrect. If this is your tattoo, please contact me for any corrections.

A Bear Follows a Compass

dragon with a yin and yang tattoo

This tattoo used to be a dragon with a yin and yang. That was because I studied martial arts. It was a family crest of the people with whom I studied martial arts.

Huginn and Muninn tattoo

Huginn and Muninn are the people and Odin’s informers. They send messages to Odin. I got this tattoo to connect, memorize, and understand their stories. Ravens are what I call snitches. They go back and tell Odin everything. They have Huginn and Muninn written in Norse runes.

Thor's Hammer tattoo

Thor’s Hammer. Thor is the protector. He stands up for everyone. I follow Thor.
I am an Odinist. I believe in Odin, but Thor is also one of my prominent patrons.

celtic cross tattoo

KBM is my daughter, who passed away. When she passed, I got the Celtic cross tattoo to represent her. She was half-German and half-Irish.

Irish Triskel

Irish Triskel. I studied Irish Celtic paganism for a long. I got this because it represents the way life ends.

leaves tattoo leaves tattoo leaves tattoo

The leaves are for the process of life. Like everything, much like a leaf turns, a human’s life revolves. As a human gets older, they have different things that are important in their life. I got this tattoo when I was in my early 30’s. I want to add more colors to represent getting older. The entire tattoo will eventually be brown to symbolize the passage through life.

viking tattoo

This Viking is a symbol of warrior status because I served in the military.

Helm of Awe tattoo

Helm of Awe. This tattoo is for my protection. The Helm of Awe has always been put in something as far as protection when you go places. A lot of people wear it under their helmets when they ride bikes. They use it because protection is what it symbolizes. It is for protection.

Norse Compass surrounded by Odin's Wolves Freki and Geri and Odin's Ravens Huginn and Muninn

This tattoo is a Norse Compass surrounded by Odin’s Wolves, Freki and Geri; and Odin’s Ravens, Huginn, and Muninn. It symbolizes staying straight. Stay on the same path that we’re on.

bear claws bear claws

The bear claws were for when I served in Washington State. I was with a lot of Native Americans. This tattoo was to connect to the Native Americans. I have been through a few smudgings before. My first totem was a bear.

The Toy Is a Story

Hello, readers! I’m sadly still not getting any new tattoo stories. I cannot wait until most people have vaccines, and I can get within six feet of them again. I am eager to get photos of their tattoos and their stories!

In the meantime, I’m coming up with a few other things to blog about. For instance, I was thinking about a movie I saw when I was really young, called “The Toy.”

It starred Richard Pryor and Jackie Gleason. Both are superstars who have since passed. Additionally, Scott Schwartz starred in that movie as a kid named “Eric.” The Toy was Scott’s first movie. His next movie was “A Christmas Story.” He was the kid who stuck his tongue to the pole. That detail ties into where I am going next with this post.

The Toy is a PG-rated movie that I saw as a kid. As a child, I didn’t notice how perverted the movie was! I surely didn’t get all the jokes. Furthermore, this movie is politically offensive to my 2020 brain, and it definitely would be a lot different if it were released now.

They have a running joke throughout the movie about Jackie’s character, “US Bates.” They keep pronouncing it, “U Ass Bates.” The wife’s name is Fancy Bates. Scott’s character is “Eric Bates.” Can you guess where I’m going with this? They are super-rich, so they actually address him as “Master Bates!” There is a spectacularly odd scene where Master Bates asks Jack Brown (played by Richard Pryor) for sex advice. The character is nine years old, ew! There is also a fully nude picture of Fancy Bates. If this movie could be made now, it would not be PG. It was super-suggestive, it does not hold up, and it’s bizarre to watch. If you plan on seeing this movie, maybe get some CBD and some booze, and plan to go along for a bizarre ride.

As a child, I thought this was a fun movie about a kid with lots of toys and lots of money. As an adult, I find it neat that such a childish movie had two extremely well-known actors.

While I was watching the movie, I started to wonder what had happened to Scott Schwartz. I looked him up on IMBD and discovered he was involved in… let’s say xxx movies! “The Wrong Snatch,” “New Wave Hookers 5”, and “The Devil in Miss Jones 6” were some of the titles. I found it hilarious. I think back, and “The Christmas Story” also had many dirty side notes, just like The Toy.

I am now putting “A Wrestling Christmas Miracle” on my must-watch movie list. It is the latest movie Scott starred in. The Word is, he is trying to get out of porn. [side note: I started watching the movie. It was terrible. I couldn’t finish it.]

I have some more blog posts coming out soon, including ones about thrifty apps I am using. However, I can’t wait to get back to my tattoo stories because I prefer talking to people and blogging about them rather than just ranting about what’s in my head.

Be Well.
