They have 26 tattoos. All of their tattoos are dedicated to the graphic novel and movie, “The Crow.” They also have the author’s signature on their thigh. James O’Barr signed their leg at a comic con in Richmond, VA. They went down the road and got it tattooed. They came back and showed James. When James expressed a bit of shock, they said, “You have no idea how much your work means to me.” The two pieces on their lower legs are his sketches. If you put it side by side, you can’t tell the difference except one is on skin.
They watched the movie when they were 17 years old. The movie was a way to deal with stuff. They next read the graphic novels. They became extremely connected to The Crow — it became that thing that made them happy.
They met James a second time. They showed James all the additional art. They told James, “I understand this was a horrible experience for you. I know you got through because of your art. I want you to know you helped me get through a lot with your art and your images.”
They bought several of the graphic novels and cut out the pictures and laminated them and put the all over their office and a room in their house. They decided that because the images made them happy, they were going to put them all over their body.
