Dogs Bark, Wolves Howl, A Bear Will Grunt

I’ve been worried that I spend too much time on Facebook. Why would somebody post these memes? Are you wanting your friends to know you are dangerous? This blog is about me trying to understand the world around me. It’s my forum to say random things.

I have been learning about dogs. A dog will bark warn you not to mess with it. This is not nearly as dangerous as a dog that has stopped barking. It’s just staring at you. This is the dog you need to be ready for. The same is true with people. The guy that said he can break you, well maybe he can break you. The guy (or girl, or nonbinary, which now that I think about it would be even more dangerous), who smiles at your insult, or doesn’t get mad, this is the person who you need to be ready for. If a nondescript old lady is crossing the street, then watch out. The attack you’re not ready for is the one that may break you.

If I tell you I am dangerous, then you know it’s coming. Why would I do that? I don’t fight friends. Rick Bunn used to say this all the time. If we get in a fight I am not trying to win. I am merely trying to not die. If I get in a fight, it’s for my life. I don’t expect you to stop until I am dead.

If I get into a fight, I will openly tell you: I am afraid. I don’t want to get hurt. I don’t want to fight. This has helped me to avoid many issues. I will also quote Red Belt, “The fight is the issue. The battle is the issue. Who imposes the terms of the battle will impose the terms of the peace.” Toby Keith, of course, said it best, “I am as good once as I ever was!”
