Boxer Dog tattoo: This is in memory of the dog they had, growing up. This dog helped their family through some extremely tough times.

Dollar Tree Dining
Shellie and I have been trying to spend less money on food. We were going to a music show one night, and we were hungry. Instead of getting fast food, we went “Dollar Tree Dining.” Each of our meals cost less then $5. We had a tasty meal that was pretty healthy, too.

Hagalaz – The Change Rune
Hagalaz is the 9th rune in the Elder Futhark. Phonetically, it’s ‘H.” It’s the first rune in Heimdall’s Aett. It’s connected to Hella. It is said to be a water elemental rune.
Hagalaz is the hailstone rune. It is also looked at as the rune for change. It is also looked at as a seed of Ymir. Hella is said to have two faces, which may be why this rune has two different looks. My understanding is that the Witches Foot is closer to magic, and the “H” is closer to nature. I will be wearing both at different times. While many see this rune as massive change, it can also be looked at as either a protection rune, or as the coming of something new.
Old Icelandic
Hail is cold grain
and shower of sleet
and sickness of serpents.
Anglo-Saxon
Hail is the whitest of grain;
it is whirled from the vault of heaven
and is tossed about by gusts of wind
and then it melts into water.
Face up in a reading:
Natural disaster
Smash things
Strife
Get rid of old thing, so new thing can come
Underworld travel
Speak to dead
Gateway
Seed, Renewal
Face down in reading:
I currently don’t have any examples. I would see it as the reverse of face up. I think it will depend on what other runes are thrown.
My current notes: It’s my first day of focusing my energies on Hagalaz, and I have to deal with my loud neighbors. They want to play very loud music every weekend that the weather is nice. I may not win, but I will fight.
Added Note: My month with Hagalaz. There was a lot of change, some good some bad. I do feel the energy diffidently ow with this rune. One I would easily say to be careful of.
Family Can Go Far
Shooting Star tattoo: This is Marin’s first tattoo. Marin got this tattoo in two phases during nursing school. Marin got the star in junior year, and the tails in senor year. It was an ongoing thing. Meliponini would say, “You can do this; you can go above and beyond.” This was because nursing school was hard.
Stars tattoo. This was their second tattoo. Marin got this one for their dad who passed when they were thirteen. They were really into astronomy together. Marin still has a pair of his binoculars. He would wake Marin up in the middle of the night for a meteor shower. They would go out and sit on the deck and watch the stars. They would go to shuttle launches. Marin got these stars in honor of him.
Crest of Hyrule tattoo: This tattoo is from the video game series, Legend of Zelda. After Marin’s dad died, Marin’s mom decided drinking was a good coping mechanism. Marin and their brother started playing Ocarina of Time. He and Marin both have the same tattoo. It was a game that got them through a hard time in their lives. They decided to this get this symbol as a show of strength. They persevered through that time together.
Love One Another tattoo. Marin got this tattoo for their mom. She died when Marin was fourteen. Marin’s mom was the most loving people Marin has ever known. She taught Marin how to care for people and instilled that into Marin. Marin wanted something to remember her by that spoke to who she was as a person.
A Bee Can See Hope
Cross tattoo: This tattoo was Meliponini’s first. Meliponini got it on their dad’s birthday. Meliponini was afraid of needles. After this tattoo, they are no longer afraid of needles.
Meliponini thinks they did the cliche thing after a person gets raped. Meliponini got a lot of these tattoos after being raped. Meliponini stated that good stuff comes from even the bad stuff.
This tattoo did not hurt. Meliponini had always wanted a cross tattoo because they believe in and love Jesus.
Lorax Unless tattoo: The tattoo is of the Truffula tree from the Lorax. It says Unless, because “Unless we care a whole awful lot it’s not going to get better.” It’s a Dr Seuss quote. Meliponini loves the environment, and wants people to care about the environment. Meliponini also thought the tattoo was cute.
Bee tattoo: Meliponini studied bees in school. Like the Lorax, Meliponini likes to say “I speak for the bees.” Bees are declining so Meliponini got this tattoo.
“You are Loved” arrow tattoo: It is supposed to be an arrow but lots of people think it’s an acute angle. It’s an arrow pointing to somebody, but it’s not supposed to point to Meliponini. It’s supposed to point to everyone else. In the five most common languages, it reads, “You are loved.” The languages include: Arabic, Chinese Mandarin, English, Spanish, and Hindi. Meliponini read somewhere that people are more likely to commit suicide if they don’t feel loved. There was a story of a person who was going to kill themselves and someone smiled at them so they didn’t kill themselves. Meliponini thought that if somebody reads this tattoo, they might feel loved. Meliponini thinks love is the most important thing. That is why Meliponini got it in the five most common languages, so most people could read it.
Mushrooms tattoo: Meliponini got this tattoo because mushrooms are delicious. Meliponini works with mushrooms, because they can be bad as a pests. Meliponini had a beautiful experience on psychedelic mushrooms: they were praying and god answered Meliponini through the TV. It was not a hallucination it was the TV answering with words. I would ask my friends if the TV said that, they would say, “yes.” Meliponini said, “It was like seeing nature outside of yourself and not being so focused on yourself.”
Hot Air Balloon and the Wind tattoo: Meliponini got this because they love hot air balloons. Meliponini has this romantic idea that they will get married and then jump into a hot air balloon and float away. Meliponini said it’s hopes, dreams, positivity, and uplifting. Meliponini designed this tattoo.
Cross and Dove tattoo: Meliponini got this tattoo to accompany the small cross. Meliponini wanted to have a bigger cross. Meliponini designed this at age15. Meliponini’s father was going to get this tattoo but he said he got too old. His would have an eagle, but he decided not to. In Meliponini life, Jesus is important. The cross is for Jesus. Then there is a black line that connects the dove. In the bible it says the holy spirit will descend on the people like a dove. Meliponini’s life is this kind of the line in that some blackness can happen. The holy spirit is guiding Meliponini and turning the blackness into light. It really important to Meliponini that, “if you think of something greater then yourself you can be there for other people.” Meliponini designed this tattoo.
“Thank you for all that you are and all that you do” tattoo: This tattoo is a prayer Meliponini says to god everyday. The day after Meliponini was raped, they had to teach people about bees. In the morning Meliponini was at the arboretum in Raleigh. Meliponini heard wind chimes and looked up it said, “Thank you for all that you are and all that you do.” Meliponini thought that was god reaching out saying it’s going to be ok. Even though it happened Meliponini feels that it changed their life in a good way. Meliponini feels blessed they had the opportunity to see the wind chimes. So Meliponini got this tattoo.
Sunflower tattoo: Meliponini thought the bee tattoo needed food. Now Meliponini can raise their arm and lower it. The bee can sit on the flower and then fly away. It is like an adult toy that Meliponini always have with them. Meliponini designed this tattoo.
Meliponini got all of their tattoos from Red Leaf in Cary by the artist, Lee.
Meliponini stated that all their tattoos are religious. Meliponini loves god and Jesus. Meliponini was reading the bible the other day and read the part that should not get tattoos. However, Meliponini believes the new testament washes away the old. Even though Meliponini thought they were doing something good, it might not necessarily be good. Meliponini questioned, “am I tattooing myself for me or for god?” Meliponini decided, “It was a reminder that god uses everything for good… all things work in unity for those who believe.”
Get Paid To Search the Web!
I don’t get a referral bonus if you search with Bing. Bing used to have a referral link, but they canceled it. I almost called this post, “get paid to not use Google,” but I decided against it.
Bing is not better than Google for searching. If you want to search who is in a movie, Bing works. If you need an address or a restaurant menu, then Bing is ok. If you are looking for how to do something, maybe go back to Google.
Google used to be great, but it has gone downhill. The search results are more controlled and limited. I often can’t find what I am looking for on Google anymore. DuckDuckGo is not great either. I miss the old Google.
I have Bing set up on my Android following these directions. You get 5 points on each search, and when you get to 5250 points, you get a $5 Amazon gift card. You can get anywhere from 30 to 50 points a day going to your dashboard. You get a bonus if you complete your dashboard for enough days in a row. You can get up to 150 points a day searching from your desktop, and 100 points a day from your phone. You can get points a couple other ways as well. If you just do the dashboard, phone, and desktop, you can get $5 from Amazon every 17 days.
I can do enough searches to get the points in less than 10 minutes a day.
Let me know how this works out for you. If you cant stand using Bing, I understand. It took me some time to get used to it. For me, it’s fun to get paid for doing things I’d do anyways.
Old Man Finds a Wanderer: Part 2 Hella
This is part two of Old Man Finds A Wanderer:
Hagalaz tattoo: Gothi got this rune because they developed a closeness to Hella. Hagalaz is very much Hella’s rune. It was not until after Gothi got the tattoo that they noticed. All of the tattoos happened organically. Gothi is inspired and then follows inspiration. Gothi noticed a theme had developed. “On the right I had Tiwaz. Tyr is a model Aesir. If you would ask who embodies the Aesir it would be Tyr, though Odin would transcend all of that. Which is the same side as my Thor’s hammer.” The Hagalaz tattoo is on their left.
Hella tattoo: Shortly after getting the Hagalaz, Gothi got the Hella tattoo, because the bond kept getting closer. Hella is holding the Ear position.
Bind Rune tattoo: The Ear rune at the top means the grave. Gothi does not really mess with the Anglo-Saxon runes but in this case it was imperative. It was the first tattoo that was not Gothi’s idea. Gothi was told to do this by the gods, so they did. This one is the Hell road.
Bind Rune tattoo: This is the balancing rune to the rune above. This tattoo was also an imperative. Gothi was told by the gods to create this. Gothi did contribute to this tattoo’s creation.
Gothi is not really sure what the bind runes are for. Gothi just knows they are imperative.
No Huginn
Bind Rune Tombstone tattoo: Esquirel was in basic training in 2006. Esquirel’s partner sent them a book on runes. As Esquirel was going through they read about bind runes. Esquirel decided they needed a bind rune. That night this popped up. The rune picked Esquirel.
Muninn tattoo: Esquirel got a raven on their back. Esquirel’s partner added a bit of flair to it. Esquirel went to a tattoo artist and got it done.
Gungnir Odin’s Spear tattoo: The tattoo is of Gungnir, Odin’s spear. It is surrounded by Geri and Freki, Odins’s two wolves. In the middle is has Sly Fox written in old Norse. Esquirel’s partner doctored it up to make it look a little cooler and got it done.
Ratatoskr tattoo: Ratatoskr is the squirrel that runes up and down the world tree talking smack to the eagle at the top, and the dragon at the bottom. People have been calling Esquirel squirrel for the last 20 years. Esquirel had to have a squirrel tattoo. Esquirel put the world tree bind rune in the tattoo as well.
